And so concludes my first volume on my lifelong adventure travels and experiences living abroad -- living and travelling in many countries on all continents since I was two years old. This one has covered my memorable, exciting, and even action thriller journey along the Silk Road. I highly recommend the journey to anyone, but please do so at your own discretion, do your research, and avoid any regions and countries at war or in crisis. Embassies and consulates will normally be able to tell you the most current information and safety levels of a place, and I also always check with both locals living there at the time, and expats and travellers who are there at present or often currently visiting. I’m not exact and while I do research especially archaeological sites, I learn much about the place as I go along, as you’ve noticed. And I’m prepared to modify my trip constantly as needed, with only a rough plan for the overall journey. I also ask fellow travellers, expats, and locals for advice and suggestions as I go along.

What’s Next?

Just so you know what to expect in future volumes, I’ll be writing about:

My childhood and teenage years, travelling with my parents and later my mother, including our entire globe-circling journey over the course of a year and a half, as well as extended travels through many regions.

My late teenage travels, when I set out on my own through Latin America, East Asia, and Oceania.

My European travels, and my very extended journey over multiple years, where I gradually moved across the current landmass from East Asia, through the Middle East, to Europe and the British Isles -- with some backtracking along the way (because no adventure is ever a straight line!).

Living, working, researching, and studying in various countries as part of my postgraduate studies and medical training -- of which this Silk Road Nights volume is only one chapter in the larger journey.

Spending time back in Canada and Australia, and how those experiences tie into my global perspective.

Future volumes, each focusing on different aspects and themes of this lifelong journey.
